Outgoing firewall blocks WPfail2ban requests

Hi,

the firewall of our server is configured to blocks also new outgoing connections. We have notice, that the “WP fail2ban” plugins creates sometimes outgoing connections to the ip addresses “52.89.67.13” and “54.200.135.228” (port https/443). What is the sense behind this communications? Must we whitelisting both IP addresses for outgoing traffic (over 443)?

That will be the Freemius SDK after you opted-in; there’s an FAQ about everything it does and why.

That’s a good question.

I know the SDK caches results and will work fine for a while without contacting Freemius, but I don’t know what will happen long-term if it can’t.

Some things, like the Add-on page, definitely won’t work without an outbound connection.
